I love Halloween! We have a tradition at my house that we have pizza before trick or treat. We walk a hundred miles with our kids and hand out massive amounts of candy to ghouls and goblins. Exhausted from it all we settle in to a Halloween themed cocktail and a scary movie. Orange and bourbon are classic and the spice of the black rum really highlights the smokey notes of the bourbon. The burnt mint doesn’t add to the flavor of the cocktail but the aroma plays nicely with the sweet caramel flavors of the bourbon. Enjoy your boneyard bourbon responsibly and cheers to a Happy Halloween!

Bourbon, black spiced rum, and orange juice combine to make an erie cocktail finished with burnt mint. Creepy and crazy good are the only way to describe it!
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce black spiced rum
- 2 ounces fresh orange juice
- 1/4 teaspoon honey
- club soda
- 1 sprig fresh mint
-
In cocktail shaker add bourbon, rum, orange juice and honey. Shake vigorously to combine. Pour over ice in glass of your choice and top with desired amount of club soda.
Carefully away from any open alcohol ( we aren't trying to light a fire) Take sprig of mint and gently rub leaves between your fingers to release oils. Lightly burn the outsides of the leaves. Rub mint on rim of glass and drop into cocktail. Serve
