THIS WEEK’S SUPPER INGREDIENTS:
- Strawberries
- Heavy Cream
- Honey
I am finally seeing some beautiful strawberries at the market!!! (that sentence warranted 3 exclamation points) 🙂 There is nothing better than walking through the market stalls and being able to smell the strawberries as you walk by. They seriously were screaming at me to bring them home!
I have always loved going strawberry picking. Canning my harvest to help preserve that beautiful flavor for a hit of spring in winter makes it a spring must do. I always need to keep an eye on my children though. I’m pretty positive if I were to weigh them before and after strawberry picking there would be a noticeable difference! My favorite way to enjoy strawberries is outdoors with a nice crisp glass of brut rosé but I am happy to enjoy them any way as long as they are in season. I will turn my head up at those flavorless imposters peaking around the corner in winter and costing me half a mortgage payment!
Heavy cream. Not much to say about heavy cream except for the fact that it is delicious! Healthy no, but I am a big believer in moderation and heavy cream makes the ice cream sing and biscuits tender.
I try to use honey in most of my recipes that involve sweeteners. I love the flavor and the viscosity is a wonderful addition to many sauces. A bit of honey in my afternoon tea or some honey comb with a warm croissant always makes my day!
I hope you check back on Tuesday to see what I have created for my supper and your new favorite strawberry recipe! I would love to see what you have made so “SnapYourSupper” and be sure to use the hashtag #snapyoursupper!
