THIS WEEK’S SUPPER INGREDIENTS:
-
Rhubarb
-
Champagne
-
Lime
I have always loved tart foods. Strawberry rhubarb pie is my absolute favorite and don’t even get me started on jam! The tartness of rhubarb brings to mind the summers spent snapping the stalks and eating the tart treat whilst doing yard work 🙂 Rhubarb always had the power to make pulling weeds a little more tolerable. Adding sugar to it was never even a thought and my siblings and I would giggle at the puckered faces we would make while eating rhubarb! The ruby stalks bring the promise of sunshine and the end of snow which we can all appreciate after this freakishly long winter!
Champagne. Even saying the word makes me grin. Often thought of as a celebratory drink it is never put in a corner at my house. Working as a nurse I am often reminded that every day is a gift and I don ‘t need a “reason” to drink champagne!
Limes just make everything better. The citrus brings every dish alive from guacamole to a cocktail. I can’t keep enough of these emerald beauties on hand and long for the day when I can simply step outside and pick my own citrus!
I hope you check back on Tuesday to see what I have created for my supper and as always, I would love to see what you have made so “SnapYourSupper” and be sure to use the hashtag #snapyoursupper!
