This week’s snap your supper ingredients are:
-
Pork Chops
-
Arugula
-
Strawberries
Boneless pork chops are a quick alternative to chicken breast when you are in the mood for a little more flavor. The main reason most will turn their noses up at pork chops is a simple memory of being served a dried up cardboard representation in their past. Do not over cook pork chops and be sure to let them rest and they will surely be added to your protein rotation. I love them on the grill or simply pan roasted.
Arugula is the bitter sister of lettuce. Some either love or hate it but the bitterness goes perfectly with acid in a nice vinaigrette. Served along a nice cut of protein arugula won’t wilt under pressure and cuts the richness of the meat. Arugula pesto is frequently found in my fridge door and really jazzes up left overs.
Strawberries are in my top 3 favorite fruits, but only when they are in season. The tasteless winter imposters don’t gain entry through my front door. Well, except on Valentine’s Day when I am a huge sucker and feel like I have to have them! I rarely use them for savory applications but I think its about time I do. 🙂
I hope you check back on Tuesday to see what I have created for my supper and as always, I would love to see what you have made so “SnapYourSupper” and be sure to use the hashtag #snapyoursupper!
