THIS WEEK’S SUPPER INGREDIENTS:
-
Pears
-
Cardamom
-
Lemongrass
Pears have become somewhat of a tradition in my house. You have all heard of doughnuts with dad, well in my house it is pears with dad :). When my little guy was 2 he started picking out 2 pears to have with my husband on his days off of work. No one else was allowed to participate it was just his special time with dad. They sit perfectly at the table and eat their pears. It is one of the very best moments I have ever witnessed. Now one of them likes them rock hard and the other nice and overly ripe so timing can be a bit of a challenge but regardless if you exclude tomatoes; pears are my favorite fruit even if only for sentimental purposes.
Cardamom is one of those scents that makes me inhale deeply and smile. So, warming yet not as heavy as cinnamon. Cardamom is my favorite spice to bake with it. If anyone has a candle favorites that are cardamom scented please share!
Ahh lemongrass… I am thrilled to see that more and more grocery chains are starting to carry this beautiful grass. A grass that not only gives food a beautiful citrus highlight but also is a huge bug repellant should be in every household and planted in every garden!
I hope you check back on Tuesday to see what I have created for my supper and as always, I would love to see what you have made so “SnapYourSupper” and be sure to use the hashtag #snapyoursupper!
