Weekly Ingredients: Pineapple & Cherries

3 May

pineapple & cherries

Pineapples are one of the more rare fruits in my house. They are too big to get in my fridge and inevitably I then end up going moldy after a day on the counter. And lets face it the pulling at our legs in every direction from children or pets doesn’t always allow for right now food prep! I have turned over the new pineapple leaf and am going back to buying these golden gems weekly. That means new pineapple recipes are in the works!

Cherries are my jam! And that wasn’t a funny pun I really like cherries :). When pregnant I used to walk 11 blocks out of my way after work to get bing cherries. And they are one of my “worthy of hiding” mom treats that I place the celery in front of! Fresh cherries aren’t in season right now but the frozen pitted variety are pretty dang tasty and I often use them to infuse my water and over ice cream.

Check back Tuesday to see my recipe with these great ingredients and to share your creations with #snapyoursupper !
