THIS WEEK’S SUPPER INGREDIENTS:
-
Sourdough Bread
-
Sumac
-
Goat Cheese
I am very excited about this week’s ingredients! I love me some carbs and I do have a pet sourdough named Swiss Starterz 🙂 Sourdough bread baking begins to be an obsession once started. Baking bread is a bit of a therapy for me that is cheaper and I get to eat. There is something about using my hands to kneed the dough and having such a heart warming result of smiling chidren walking through the door led by the smell of my kitchen. I actually was lucky enough to take a week long artisian bread course at the International Culinary Center and it was better than most vacations I have taken! I would definitely recommend it to you if bread baking is a passion.
Sumac has always had some love in my kitchen because the bright acidity it provides is amazing and has totally helped me out of a jam when my fridge was fresh out of citrus to finish a dish. If you purchase a bottle of Sumac it will be gone in record time because you WILL make up delicious dishes just to utilize this gem.
And finally we have goat cheese. A slightly funky and tangy cheese that is delicious spread on everything from bagels to frozen grapes rolled in this delicious stuff and coated in chopped walnuts. That last one gives you an idea as to what my snacks shoved in my purse look like 🙂
I hope you check back on Tuesday to see what I have created for my supper and as always, I would love to see what you have made so “SnapYourSupper” and be sure to use the hashtag #snapyoursupper!
