THIS WEEK’S SUPPER INGREDIENTS:
-
Watercress
-
Sesame Oil
-
Togarashi
This time of year, when winter seems to be dragging on and on I really start to crave green leafy veggies. The super vegetable, watercress contains half of the Vitamin C and Vitamin A you need daily in just one cup! So, great for you in fact that it was added to diets to ward off Scurvy in Victorian times before we had access to such great fruits and vegetables. Watercress is peppery similar to radishes and mustard greens and makes amazing tea sandwiches! The beauty of the leaves caught my market eye and I can’t wait to incorporate it in a dish!
I checked my pantry and I have currently 4 bottles of sesame oil, enough said it needs used!
Togarashi is amazing! A Japanese spice that perfectly blends citrus with chili and nori among other stand out spices. A little bit goes a long way and the heat may be too intense if you aren’t a spice fan but it is an instant dish elevator.
I hope you check back on Tuesday to see what I have created for my supper and as always, I would love to see what you have made so “SnapYourSupper” and be sure to use the hashtag #snapyoursupper!
